Fort Desoto

We were so excited about collecting shells that we went to another beach. This beach is Fort Desoto Beach. They have many sand dollars there.
We had to cross through the water to get to the beach. The boys enjoyed it. Over the last two weeks it has been raining every day like cats and dogs. We decided to try and go to the beach anyway. We were there for about an hour and it started to rain. We headed for cover.

It didn't take long for the rain to go away. I found a Welch egg case to the right and a snail trail to the left.

Wow look at those clouds behind the boys. It was hard to figure out which way the storm was heading. The boys didn't care They had fun playing in the sand anyway.

So gloomy!!!! You wouldn't believe how much rain was hiding in these clouds. When we left it was like the ocean dumped on the land.

Here is a snail finding his way.

You know it is very cool to hop into a car and drive for 1 or 2 hours to find and experience all that is around us. I love seeing new places. I am so blessed to have a husband that loves to explore. You all should try it. Just hop into a car and drive 2 hours or three and enjoy the sights.

So, my sister is getting married and this is a purse I knitted up for her. It was so much fun knitting with beads. This is made with Halycon yarn Size 3 Mercerized cotton. I can't believe how soft it is. I want to make another one. So many projects. I must finish the other doll. Yes I was making two dolls at a time in case I sold one. I only have to finish her hair and apron. Almost there. Then I have to finish my first pair of socks. I may secretly go ahead and make this bag. It only took me a week to make.

Well I hope I encouraged everyone to go and explore. Everyday is an adventure.

Seminole Indian Reservation and Sanibel Island

Can you say She sells sea shells down by the sea shore? I had a difficult time writing it. I couldn't believe how many shells I saw on one tiny island. This island is 12 miles long and had a gazillion shells on it. The ocean kept unloading these beautiful shells right on the beach. Here is a live sea urchin. I was overwhelmed with how many shells there were that I didn't take that many pictures. I was so busy collecting shells, I completely forgot to take photos. Especially at sunset, the waves were bringing all the shells on shore in big mounds. It was unbelievable. If you love looking for shells this is the island to look for them.

As soon as I find where I put the paper that identifies what shells I have at home, I will let you know. It has been misplaced or thrown out.

This photo doesn't do it justice. There were so many shells I didn't know where to begin collecting them. I like the shell called the jingle shell. I want to make some cute bracelets with them. I have to figure out how to put a whole in them first before I can make them. We also went on a pirate ship. They sang songs, told stories, played games, and of course there was treasure!!!! I had fun watching the children learn about many pirates. There was Capt. Jack Sparrow, Capt. Black Beard, and even Capt. Morgan. He he. That joke was for the adults.

Yo ho yo ho a pirates life for me.

On the Seminole Indian Reservation we got Austin a tootsie roll pop. How many licks does it take to get to the tootsie roll you ask? Well for Austin it took him 253 licks to get there.

It took him awhile, but he actually counted, I heard him whispering. I wouldn't have the patience. I would've bitten into it.

On the reservation we went on a swamp buggy ride. Uhhhhh we were scared!!!!!!!!!!! The ostrich was chasing us because we were too close to their babies. They were pecking at the vehicle. Yikes!!
It was a fun bumpy ride. The areas we saw were dry. In the rainy season the area would be under water. Can you believe they let the buffalo fiber just fall off. I wish I could talk them into letting me have that yummy fiber to take home so that I could spin it into yarn. They shed their fur more down here in Florida because it is so hot. All the animals on the reservation are left alone. They don't approach them at all, but they do put out over 3,000 lbs of feed per day for them. Isn't that the life. To be able to live in a place were people leave you alone and feed you at the same time. How do I acquire that gig!!! I want to thank my wonderful husband for planning this trip for our family. I had an amazing time. I love you Barry!!!!!

Moved to Pennsylvania. this was her going away party. She is a Browns fan. I made her this cool headband to wear when she watches her favorite team. I love the colors together. I may make one with orange leaves or something. Only after I am finished with my other zillion projects.

I may make one that says Gators on it for my niece for Christmas.

A Variety of Things

A Birthday Party for Nicholas at Build a Bear workshop.

Happy Birthday Nicholas!!!!!! Thanks for the party. Building bears are fun!!!! The kids had fun building their bears. All the way down to putting the hearts into the bears. I can't believe all the accessories they have. It is a stuffed animal paradise.

Next, Gigi, Barry's grandmother wanted to redo her back yard. So, the Wagner's got together and planted her a new garden in her yard. Hear is Austin pointing at some of the flowers.

This is Gigi. She was relaxing while we planted her garden.

This was a huge job. First we had to rake everything that was laying all over her yard. We also had a difficult time planting some of the shrubs because there use to be rocks on the ground along the fence area. Digging up rocks is not fun.

Yeah, I got to get my hands dirty!!!!! I was planting lantana. It doesn't require that much water. Most of the plants were drought tolerant, and likes the shade. I can't wait to see how it looks in a couple of months.

Barry came to see my softball game. He is so awesome. My kids were cheering the whole game. I think this is the video of me hitting the ball. It feels good to smack a ball.

It also feels good to run around the bases. We won the game Yea!!!!

I will have to post more soon to catch you up on the other things I've been up to. I hope to do this this week. Take care.

Central Florida Fair Mistake

There was a mistake. I went to pick up my items and they said This doll should have a blue ribbon on it. Then she said this other doll should have a red one. I ended up with a $60.00 check. I couldn't believe it. I was so excited.
Here are some of Austin's entries. He was very excited. Then he found out his paperwork was missing. He has to wait for his $70.00 check. He is being patient about it. We think we are going to enter next year. If you haven't entered a fair it is fun and rewarding, give it a try.
