This morning I saw a halo around the sun as it was waking up. It was beautiful. I've been on a hunt to see the different Atmospheric Optics in the sky.
Here is a web site that shows you different
Halos According to this site I may see a sun dog later today around sun set. As long as the clouds cooperate. We will see.
This halo looks like an eyeball. I needed a wider camera. It was difficult to take this photo because I couldn't look in the camera to take the pic because I would be looking at the sun. I think I am addicted to looking at the sun now. Well not directly at the sun, I think you know what I mean. I wonder if I could knit one of these pic of the sun? :) Have fun looking.

How cool!! You saw a halo and even got photos! I have not been that lucky. I've only seen lunar halos and none of my photos turned out well. Yesterday afternoon it seemed that conditions were good here for a sundog, but there weren't enough high cirrus clouds.
Keep looking!
Very pretty! Now that it's light a bit longer these days, maybe I'll see more of the sun too.
Those photos are beautiful!
Thank you for visiting my blog! The pattern I used for my shawl was actually a crochet pattern called "South Bay Shawlette" from the LionBrand free pattern site. It would have taken virtually no time at all to crochet if I had worked on it exclusively and followed the pattern explicitly. As it was I worked on it between several other projects and added a few extra pattern repeats to make it larger, so it took me about 2 months of sporadic crocheting to make. I am currently knitting the Fountainhead Shawl by Jessie Booth which is pretty fast for the other people knitting it with me. For me it's a little slower b/c I'm very new to chart reading and lace knitting in general. I also knit something called a September Scarf (which was actually a shawlette) which was pretty fast, even for me. You can see it in my Rav projects (I'm jessecreations). I think the problem for me with shawls is that I get easily bored and they're kind of larger projects so they take a while to work up. The payoff is definitely worth it, though!!
