Wrap Handbags

Two friends and a family member had babies! Here is one of the handbags I made.
While my kids were young I remember trying to place bags on my stroller and needing one more, but it wouldn't fit. I needed one that I could place close to the stroller and still have access to the basket under the stroller. I placed a 2 ribbons on top of the bag that can snap around the stroller on top.
You can see the snaps on the right and left of this bag at the top. I also made them each a wrap that they can carry there baby close to them. It is a long piece of fabric that you wrap around you and the baby. That is why there are 2 separate areas inside this bag. One side is for the wrap, The other is for, toys or what ever they need. There is also a front pocket for whatever you would need as well.
This picture shows the straps on the bottom. This is to tie the bag up next to the stroller. This bag will also snap into the back side of the front seat. for easy access. You know how those kids throw the toys on the floor and they scream for another. Well, you can just reach into this bag and grab another,
When I finish the other two bags, I will show how the baby wrap fits inside this bag.

100th Post and Contest!!!! Projects Complete!!

Yeah they are done! I want to apologize to the contest winners for taking so long. I realized I wasn't going to finish the gift I am making for my Mom for Mother's Day, so I thought I would finish these magic wallets. Yeah, at least I feel better that I finished one project. Now I need to finish 3 more projects. I have already talked to the women I am  making the projects for and it is nice to know I am in no hurry to complete them. There needs to be 3 more hours a day at the end of the day! Wouldn't that be nice:)

Sometimes I Yearn For Box Stores

Yes, I've been knitting about 2 hours every night to try and get this knitting project finished. I had no idea lace knitting took so long to do. Yuck!! I must try larger needles!!! Anyway, this project is for someone special, so I am only showing a tiny portion of the item. I only have 30 more inches to go.

Alright, Sometimes designers should quit their day jobs. I mean seriously whoever wove this fabric..... Ummm it is non-appealing. This is a cushion for the booth for a table that we bought. Well as you can imagine I couldn't put up with this, so I decided to get rid of this fabric and make a new cushion cover.

I know this isn't a very good picture, it was taken at night. The light in my house is better during the day.
It may look like these cushions were easy to make, but I was longing for a box store that already had cushion covers that were pre-made. It was a pain!!! But, The finished product sure looks professional. I don't mean to brag, but it does look better than what it did before.

Once I figured out how to sew this cover I was on my way. It didn't take that long to sew up. It was just the initial figuring out that took many hours.
Here is the close up of the fabric. It is almost a quilted fabric with textured stitching. I like it  better than the original fabric.

I've only got 2 more cushions, and 4 throw pillows to make. I may make place mats with the leftover fabric, I'll just have to wait and see if I bought enough fabric. This sewing project was a nice change of pace, the lace knitting is going so slow that I was getting bored with it. The break was nice.

Wine Bottle Coozy

I finally gave my Best Friend Jill her Christmas present!!! It is a wine bottle coozy!! The material I used it from her brides maids dresses from her wedding. I had extra material from when we made grab bags for an aniversary party for her and her husband. The bottle is actually (42below ) It is a product of New Zeland. It is named after the longitude. It took awhile to get this product, so it isn't completely my fault that I gave it to her late. I love you Jill!! I colored her hair purple last night. She is going to send me pictures of her hair so that I can post it and show you her pretty purple hair. She loves the color purple. Well I love the color green, I wonder if I could put some green streeks in my hair. That would be fun. But, I'm not sure Barry would like it , maybe if I did Camo colors he would like it. He is all about the Camo these days!!I love you honey!!!

PJ's

Here is Krystin making her first sewing project. She needed little guidance. I told her what she needed to do, and she went to town. I was amazed. It was as if she has been sewing for awhile. We just finished cutting out the fabric pattern. Next on to the sewing machine.
She is a sewing prodigy. Her stitches were very straight for her first project. I was so very proud of my student. I didn't even have to do that much teaching. She just sewed away. I also made a pair of pj's. for my sister Cindy. The pj's were so comfy. I told Krystin I wanted pj's. When I came home from work the next day, She had pj's waiting for me. Awe. That was so sweet of her to do for me. I just love them. She made mine special. I have a pocket on the front, which by the way I didn't even tell her how to do. Cindy received her pants today. I wish she could be here so that we can wear them together, and get some popcorn and watch movies all night.

Thank you so much Krystin. I just love them. A couple of days before We made the pants I cut Krystin's hair. Did I mention I have a cosmetology license. I love the layers I cut into her hair.
This is the front:)

This is the back. Cutting these layers in her hair made me miss my long hair. So, I am growing it back out again.
I know I said I would post my knitting projects, But I haven't taken pictures of them yet. I am making one purse, one woven bag, and a baby sling. The baby sling is one that I've been wanting to design to for a while now, and I am doing so whenever I have a spare moment. Pictures soon to come I promise. I only had maybe two or three days off in July. I need a break!!!! I will be off work on Sunday, so I will take some nice pictures. Happy knitting everyone.

Ashley's Portable CD player case

This is a portable CD player case I made for Ashley. I thought that this would be nice for her to carry around her CD player in. Also so that she wouldn't drop it. I just took a piece of paper and drew an out line of the player and thickness of it. and made a pattern of it. I also made a place for her to put some CD's in the back. I hope she likes it.

Austin's shark

This is a picture of the shark Austin designed. He drew a picture of the shark and I cut it out, put it on paper, sewed it together, and Austin stuffed it. It was more fun than build a bear workshop. He loves it because he helped create it. I plan on making more because it is fun to see how it will turn out.

My First Sewing Project

This is the very first outfit I ever sewed. My MamMaw taught me how to do it. This is very special to me even though the style is outdated I will treasure the memories I have making this with her. Unfortunately, I didn't become crafty until about 5 years after she passed away. I could have learned more from her great knowledge. Over the pasted few years I have made many other things which some I have made on my own and others my beautiful Mother has graciously helped me make some beautiful outfits for my daughter Ashley. I like to think that my MamMaw is still with me and guides me when I get stuck on a project, because somehow I will figure it out, If my mom is unavailable. It is the same when it comes to crochet and knitting. My Aunt Mary helped me figure out crochet patterns and knitting I have tackled on my own with the help of books and DVD's. I am still having issues reading some patterns but my friend at work Pat has helped more than she knows. I will share other projects that I have made soon. Thank you for checking out my blog.
