Happy Birthday TO US!

Yesterday was my birthday! My most amazing husband drove over 100 miles to get my present! I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw them. He called all over Florida to try and find these Addi Turbo Clicks for me. I have size 4-15 Addi's! I can't wait to put them to use! Barry, you are the man!!! I love you.

We went to a Mexican restaurant for dinner. Apparently when it is your birthday they will put this sombrero on your head and give you flan to eat! The hat was handmade in Mexico. It was beautiful.

I received a text from my twin sister while we were eating. She told me she was at a Mexican restaurant. We both didn't know each other were going to eat Mexican food that night. This is us frowning because we wished Cindy and John were here with us!

Here are some of my gifts. I love the wine bottle holder. it is defying gravity! The wood is beautiful too. Then we went to our local down town Winter Garden Theater to see Breakfast at Tiffany's! The best part in the movie is when we get to see Audry KNITTING! I leaned forward and looked at my friends and whispered YES! I had a wonderful night and can't wait to see Cindy tonight! Happy birthday to me and my twin sister!

Finished The Toe

I don't want to stop knitting this sock! Toe up socks are addicting! Must keep going!

My Medusa Scowl

This is another scowl made with the yarn from storied yarns! This color way is called Medusa from the Percy Jackson and the Lightening Thief Series. Now I will be back to knitting my toe up socks!

We Made Pizzas

We made pizzas! It was so much fun. We went to the bakery and we got the dough there. Then we got the other toppings for the pizzza. I do recomend using a non stick pan or spraying the pan. Our pizzas stuck to the pan!

Traveling Shawl Swap

My traveling shawl is on its way for 5 other knitters to knit! This will be so much fun!

My First Ever Toe Up Sock, and Other Projects

This is my first toe up sock. I am using Judy's magic loop cast on method. I am doing one at a time, because I didn't want to make my head spin! This sock pattern is from the Percy Jackson Kal I am doing on Ravelry. The pattern called for stitch markers and all I have are the markers that are plastic and thick, so I got out some contrasting yarn and tied it in a circle and wa la a stitch marker!

I am usually good about not having too many projects going at the same time, but this is a project that I want to slowly work on anyway. It is the Tikvah Shawl on Ravelry.  I normally have 2 projects going. One easy and one hard. It is easy to knit the easy pattern in the car, so I take that one. Then I save the hard one for knitting at home. I like to maximise my knitting into every possible second that I have :)

This next rectangle shawl is a stitch pattern from one of the Vogue books. I am participating in a Traveling Shawl Swap. I will be knitting 12" of this shawl, then 5 other girls will be knitting the rest. Then I will be knitting their shawls. I can't wait to see what I will be knitting. Whew.... I've got some knitting to do!

I finished my scowl I made with my Percy Jackson Kal kit.

I put a twist in it, sort of like a mobis.

I just love the colors! Next time I make one I am going to crochet it loosely. I crocheted this to tight.
I love it!

Star Wars Weekend

It's Star Wars weekends at The Hollywood Studios! Lots of Star Wars characters.

I made this vest! A friend of mine makes the props for this event and asked me to make this vest. It was easy to make. I also made The Greedo costume, but I didn't see him out there .

My Yarn Came!

My yarn is here for the Percy Jackson Kal! I am so excited. The colors are beautiful. The pattern we are doing is really cool as well! I'm only showing part of it in case the other knitters haven't received there package yet. I dont want to spoil it. I am so excited!

Tikvah Shawl Beginning

Well not sure which yarn I want to use to knit up this next shawl. This is the Tikvah Shawl. It is so beautiful. I was thinking I would use one of the Storied yarns for this project, but I don't know which yarn I would use on that one either. Therefore, I decided to knit this shawl twice. Also this shawl will be knit up at my leisure. I don't want to knit it under pressure like the last one I did. I am under no time limits on this one. My Storied yarns will be here soon. I can't wait to knit those either!

Tallulah Gorge State Park And Taccoa Falls

 We took a quick trip to North of Atlanta.

 

This is Toccoa Falls There is so much beauty in this world that can only be seen if you get off the couch and explore. The feeling of awe can be described here. The sound of the powerful water splashing in the river was amazing.

Here is Aidan's action shot. He is flying down the falls.

We drove on and went by the Gorge. Whoa, don't step to far off the road. It is a long, long way down.

Karl Wallenda crossed over this Gorge on a tight rope. I don't think I could ever do that. It is a long way down. If you are ever North of Atlanta it is a beautiful drive on HWY 441.  Give it a try.
