My mom , son, and I entered some items into the Central Florida Fair. We had fun working hard over the past year getting our items ready for this event. The photo of the whale is the item my mom entered. She received Honorable mention.I made a knitted bag for my mom for Christmas, it was my first knitted bag. I won a 3rd place ribbon. It was very exciting seeing that I won something.
I entered the two dolls I made for my daughter. The one on the right is the one I just finished making. I was disappointed that I didn't win anything on those. Maybe next time.
My son on the other hand did an awesome job. He received Honorable mention on this painting. he painted a beach scene.
He took some photos at a school field trip and won some ribbons. His photo of a sheep on the bottom right hand corner won First place. A photo of a dolphin won him Honorable mention. His photo of a goat won him 2ND place. Awesome job Austin!!!!!! I am very proud of you!!!
He also took some black and white photos and won First Place on all of them. (From Left to right) a photo of a turkey, hibiscus, and building. I think he did an awesome job on the photos. They look awesome!!!!!!!!!
I can't wait to get started on next years entries. It was so much fun!!!!!!!!!!!!! I enjoyed looking at all the entries, Central Florida has awesome talent.
Stone Mountain Georgia is a beautiful area. There are many things you can do there. You can hike up the mountain, go on a sky hike ( I don't have pictures of that, my mom does), ride on a cable car lift up the mountain, ride on a train, putt putt golf, see a 3- D movie, eat yummy home style food where they actually throw your roll at you, and admire the beautiful sites.
Austin and Barry were tired from climbing up this mountain. O.K. this is trick photography, but it sure looks like they are climbing up it.
Whew, we stopped for a break, Aidan, my 3 yr. old climbed the whole way with out me carrying him.
We were at the Atlanta Tea Party. There were so many people there. It was hard for me to see what was going on from my chair, but I heard people chanting for our constitutional rights, and for govt. to cut back on spending. It was a unique experience. I pray that our kids will not suffer from all this spending. How is it all going to get payed back?
This was the best seat in all of Atlanta. WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
My most comfortable shoes ever made it to Atlanta, Can you see the CNN building in the back ground? We went to the Georgia Aquarium next to see the fishes. I am wearing a knitting hat my wonderful in laws gave me from there vacation in the islands. I love it.
They had some cool jelly fish in this tank.
The coolest animal they had is the Whale Shark. They shipped it over to the U.S.A. from Taiwan using UPS. They are the only aquarium In the U.S. that has one. The biggest one was 28 feet long. They also had a huge manta ray.
Isn't it cool? I got so much crocheting done on this trip. I am making another doll and finished her head and body on this trip.
On the way back we stopped for some gas and I saw this beautiful wheat field. I ran over to get a photo, you don't see this everyday in Orlando. This trip was made in 2 1/2 days. We crammed so much into these days. If only the tea party was going on the same time as Stitches South. I missed it by one week. Barry assured me that if it is held in Atlanta next year, I could go. It didn't make sense to head back up one week later. Not to mention Austin's got a little behind in his school work. We are slowly catching back up. We saw our prizes we won at the Central Florida Fair. I will post it on my next one. It was very exciting for my son Austin.
Check Cindy out!!!!! Her First FO Yeah!!!!! Cindy FO means Finished Object. Now you need to learn the lingo. I can't believe how fast she picked up knitting. I am very impressed. I am going to teach her how to purl next. She didn't even drop any stitches. You are amazing Cindy. I love you!!!!!
This is my Nephew Nicholas. He caught a dragon fly. He is sneaky. We went canoeing down the Wekiva River. It took us 4 1/2 hours to do.
Here is Ashley and Austin. They helped me row. They were excited to see the wild life up close.
Here is Nicholas, Mathew, and their dad. They were counting all the turtles out on the river.
Here are two out of the 19 turtles we saw. We found animal tracks. There are deer, turkey, human, and bear. Can you see them?
Here is a Blue Heron. It flew away and the bird is absolutely beautiful.
Ahhhhh!!!!! You wouldn't believe how close we were to alligators. We saw 5 of them. One was a 4' gator and it went into the water 2 feet from where we were. I couldn't see where it went and I was scared. I thought my kids were going to lose it. I had a great day out on the water, paddling the day away. It wasn't too hot. it was just right. I highly recommend going down Rock Springs to Wekiva river in a canoe. You could also go down on a tube. If you are ever in Orlando, check it out. It is very beautiful. Don't forget the sunscreen and something soft to sit on.
