One Of The Prizes In My Contest

Finally photos of one of the prizes I am giving away in my blog contest. I can't believe I forgot to take a picture of the other 15 I made. It is a felted rectangular bowl made with Paton's classic wool , a lavender soy candle, a soap sock, and (olive oil, rosemary, peppermint, eucalyptus soap) All items are handmade by me. Except the glass container. Glass blowing is not on the list of things to learn.
My favorite thing that I made in this prize was the soap. I've never made soap before and I can't wait to make more so that I can have one for myself. This gift set cost me about $3.00 to make. I have so many family members it helped me save some money. Good luck on the contest everyone. If you haven't entered Please visit the Dec. 2nd post and follow instructions.

Christmas Was Fun

I had a wonderful Christmas. I got to see my niece!!!! I haven't seen her since 2 years or so.She is now taller than me. She lives in Florida now. She was in Colorado. We put cookies out for Santa. Santa enjoyed them.It was so cute, Austin was watching Aidan open his presents. He wanted to see what he got. We told him that he could open his and he said oh. He was so excited about Aidan, he almost forgot about his.
Austin finally after a year and a half got his MTT Tradefederation Lego set. Daddy put it together with a little bit of Austin's help, and it looks awesome. Daddy got Mommy a Tassimo coffee maker. The coffee that comes out of this machine is way better than Starbucks coffee. It is like heaven in a cup. I liked it so much I wanted to try another flavor. Before I knew it I was high on caffeine. Barry is so awesome. Thank you Barry for the coffee, You rock.
The men were enjoying some guy time while children were running around. It looks like John on the right, my sisters boyfriend in checking out what Barry has on his plate. I love how their legs are crossed opposite of each other. I wonder if they planned it?

My other sister and her husband Greg found a little quiet time for a smooch. They were sharing a dessert together. Isn't that sweet?

I couldn't go this whole post without bringing up my crafting. I crocheted this snowman out of fabric a couple of years ago. He is a little over 2 Ft. tall. I also made one for my in laws. It really didn't take that long to make. When we got home that day we put together more toys for the boys. Train tracks, Lego's, and Cars stuff. I forgot to take a picture of the handmade gifts I made this year. I will post the gift set for the blog contest when I get it done, which will be tomorrow. The felted basket has to dry for a day.
Oh, Don't forget about my contest on Dec. 2nd post. Deadline is Dec. 31st at midnight. I will be working, so I won't be able to post until I wake up in the morning. Good luck to all!!!!

Pictures Of My Boys

They had so much fun getting their pictures taken!!!!!!! I wanted to cry. They are getting so big. Here are more photos!!!!!!

I just want to hug and squeeze them. I got these photos for their grandparents. They've been bugging me for pictures of them. I am so glad I did. The photographer was awesome. I thought Aidan was not going to be good, but he loved it. I may be biased, but they sure are cute. Barry says they get it from him. What do you think?
This is a photo of us in Cades Cove. Barry has a fierce goatee going on, don't mess with him, that goatee has super human powers. He has shaved it off since the trip. Now he is just Super handsome Barry. I am off to get more Christmas knitting done. Yikes one more day!!!!

More Christmas fun

This is my mom decorating her gingerbread man. It was beautiful of course, she is an amazing artist.

Isn't the gingerbread man cute. Great job mom.

This is Aidan (3 years old) decorating his gingerbread man. You can also see Nicholas, my nephew decorating his in the background. We had so much fun!!!
This is Ashley and Mathew (my nephew) This gingerbread man was very decorated with lots of candy. Every picture needs rabbit ears, will this gesture ever go away?

This picture is priceless. She told me Santa wasn't real, and yet here she is. I had to ask him what she wanted to surprise her. I hope it works. We had so much fun that day. I love everything about Christmas. I like for it to last longer than one day. I try to celebrate Christmas every weekend in December, whether it is decorating, driving around and looking at other lights on homes, Making things for Christmas, and going to theme parks. Christmas is my favorite time of year.

Don't forget about my contest if you haven't entered it yet. It is in the Dec. 2nd post on this blog, good luck. Happy holidays!!!

Christmas Holiday Stuff, It Snowed again in Florida

We found more snow in Florida!!!! Austin wants to move where there is snow, because he had fun throwing snowballs. See no mittens. The snow (crushed ice) was cold on our hands. We are not use to this in Florida.

AHHHHHHH!!!!! Watch out he may get you with the snowball!!!!!
This is us at Epcot in front of Nemo. Barry is taking the photo. We need a tripod so that he is in pictures. He always takes the photos.
They sure are heavy!!! Hurry and take the picture!!!!. This is EPCOT'S Christmas tree. I still like the one at Universal better. We saw the amazing fireworks at park closing. While we waited Aidan entertained us with his balancing act.
He thought he was so clever. The fireworks were amazing. More to come on our Christmas holidays.

I Got Tagged

I am still working on my Christmas gifts. I am having trouble with one part of it. I hope I don't have to give up and buy commercially. I wanted the gift to be completely handmade. I must keep trying. Well I was tagged by http://www.michellesstitchwitchery.blogspot.com/
to do a Meme. Here are my rules:

1. Link to the person who tagged you.
2. Post the rules on your blog.
3. Write six random things about yourself.
4. Tag six people at the end of your post and link to them.
5. Let each person know they've been tagged and leave a comment on their blog.
6. Let the tagger know when your entry is up.

Here is mine:

1. I wish I grew up in the Victorian Era. I love the way they dress, the culture, and way of life. I would love to have a home in the mountains and live off of the land the way they did back then. I have a horticulture degree, so I would be able to grow my own food, and i know how to sew, knit, crochet. The only thing left out is that I would need to learn how to cook the food I grow. I am not the greatest cook.

2. I wanted to be an Air Force Pilot, But my lack of enthusiasm for going to school for 4 years crushed that dream. I was 21 years old and at that time thought 4 years was a lifetime. So, I became a hairstylist instead. It took less than a year of schooling for that degree.

3. I am a twin!!!! I secretly wish every time I get pregnant that I hope it is twins. I have 3 kids now, none of which are twins. If I have twins the next time I will have 5. Yikes!!! Well then there will be more help to plow the fields :)

4. I love The Brady Bunch!!!!!!!!

5. I am really scared of heights, but I love the feeling of being scared you know the part when your stomach gets that squishy feeling, and then when I am on the ground the feeling of relief. I know it is weird because at my job I am in the air often. It is a love / hate relationship.

6. Lastly, I love to clean, It feels so good to have everything in order. (If only I had more time and energy to do it).
Here are the people I tagged: Have Fun!!!

It Snowed In Florida

Well, It kind of did. We went to Light up Downtown Winter Garden. They did the annual tree lighting. While we were there we saw some snow. They brought in a lot of chomped up ice and made a slide.
I thought I would give it a try. You don't get to do this everyday. I can't believe how fast we went. I screamed so loud my husband was embarrassed. We ate several of cookies and drank hot chocolate. Yummy, Yummy.

Here is the Christmas tree, while I think it is pretty, I think I am prejudice to the Universal Studios Christmas tree.

They also blew snow (soap) into the streets. It didn't taste like soap. We had fun checking out all the booths, none of them were knitting related. I guess I know what I am going to do next year. I better start knitting. I got to drive the Madagascar truck in the Macy's Parade at Universal. Mannheim Steam Roller played after the parade. I have to wait for photos from my mom. My camera ran out of batteries. It happens. Remember to enter my blog contest in case you haven't, it is in my Dec. 2nd post. The deadline is Dec. 31, 2008. Good luck.

Ashley's Doll's New Sister

Look who is here. She is finally back from the eye doctor. My gracious Mom finished her eyes. Now she can be with her older sister. I gave her low lights in her hair. She was a lot of fun to make, but takes me about 3 months to make. I can't wait for Ashley to meet her. Thanks mom for making the eyes.

Thanks Ria!!!!! I can't wait to get it. So I thought of what the contest should be about and I came up with this: I don't have many comments on my blog, but I know people visit it. If you will leave me a comment telling me what I could do to make my blog better, whatever it may be, how I could get more comments, or what you like about my blog. Remember I take criticism very well and you will not hurt my feelings. I want to make my blog better. I will be giving out 2 prizes. One prize is a surprise because it will be what I am making for Christmas gifts and I don't want to give it away in case my family reads my blog. The other prize is any 1 item for my ETSY shop. Christmas Is Here and It Isn't Even Thanksgiving

Christmas is here!!!! Yes our Christmas tree has been up for a week now. It seemed to be the only time we would have to put it up. My son Austin really wanted to put it up. He begged me everyday for 5 days. We finally gave in when I saw my work schedule.

As you can see I worked on decorating the tree at work (Universal Studios)all week, not to mention Last Fri. night we were up all night installing the tree. The tree is about 50 foot tall. Can you see me in the High reach? From time to time I get to work as an Entertainment Tech when there aren't any hours available as Sarah Conner. I like doing the different jobs, it keeps the work week interesting.

I had a lot of fun driving the reach. I thought about knitting up there, but they will probably think that I have taken my knitting hobby to far. I had a lot of fun, but after Today I am glad I already put my tree up. I did have a chance to do some knitting this week.

I took this photo up by the star looking down.

What a view. This is what I got to look at all week, It would've been awesome to knit up there.
Oh did I mention it was a little chilly up there, for Florida.

Well, I had to wait to knit when I got home, that is alright, because I still made this fun bracelet. I just love snowmen, they melt my heart away. Well I have some catching up to do because I have been so busy. Happy knitting everyone, and Happy Holidays!!!!!!

The Jack skellington one is still in the works. I 've been working on that one at work and I haven't worked at T-2 in awhile so hopefully it will be finished by thanksgiving. I also want to thank everyone who is reading my blog. I see the number of people visiting, but don't really know who you are. Please feel free to leave a comment and if you have a blog I can come and check your blog out as well. Happy Holidays everyone.

Getting Ready for Christmas Candy Canes

Happy Holidays. This is the newest bracelet. I am having so much fun creating new ones. This one was fun to make because I added jingle bells on it. I am going to modify the pattern and get bells that are a little bigger. The sound on it is soft. I want people to hear me. Also I am going to make candy cane not so square. I will be making a snowman one next, then a Christmas tree one. I will have to see what else I can create. Having fun kniting and getting ready for those Christmas gifts I will be making as well. This bracelet only took me one day to make. It was so much fun.
I have 4 different bracelets still to make.
My Second cousin Jean Sparks sent me a triangular loom. I can't wait to start weaving on it. It was so awesome of her to send it to me. There are so many projects and so little time. AAAAAAAAAAAhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh do you ever feel that way. I have sock yarn that I bought on vacation starring at me everytime I walk into my room. If I could pick up more hours at work I could get more knitting done. Well I am off to do some more knitting.

Back From Vacation

Our first stop on vacation was to Graceland. On this tour we were able to see his home, the building that holds all his automobiles, his awards, and his airplanes. After seeing all his amazing things I was all shook up :)

There is light at the end of the tunnel. We went on a train ride through the Ozarks in Missouri. It was beautiful. You could see the sky in this train car, it was really cool.

Then we went on a horse trail through the Ozarks. It is so beautiful it makes me want to move there.
Then we went to Silver Dollar City. We hiked down into a cave. This cave was so big they had 5 hot air balloons in it to celebrate something, that I can't remember what because I was at the last person at the end of the tour. It was hard to hear.

This ride was really cold. I think it was 60 degrees outside and we got wet. Burrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. There was this roller coaster that was there. It was the scariest ride ever. I'm sorry I don't have a photo of it. It was on a side of a mountain, so you felt like you were higher than you really were. I was so scared I couldn't stop laughing, people thought I was crazy.

We also enjoyed a game of putt putt. Austin on the left got a whole in one.

Then we went to Gatlinburg. There we went hiking, we saw 3 bear cubs on our hike. We weren't that close so you couldn't see them in the photo. It was a good hike. I didn't have any problems because I was wearing the most comfortable shoes ever. Made by Merrell.

I actually woke up early one morning at caught the sun rise. It was really beautiful.

Here is the photo of the most comfortable shoes ever. Also of Cades Cove. It is a beautiful dive, just outside of Gatlinburg. Some of the trees started changing colors.

This is the scariest hunted house I have ever been to. It is located behind the ski lifts downtown Gatlinburg.

The highlight of my trip was going to Spinnery in Gatlinburg. It is a cute store that has yarn, yarn, yarn, also weaving tools, spinning tools and fiber, books. I haven't been to a store like this one in a long time. They don't have many stores like this one in Orlando.

While on my trip, I finished my weaving project. Well, It was a tad too short to make a shawl, so I stitched it together to make a cute bag. I love how colorful it is.

I had a lot of time riding in the car. However, I wasted no time. I came up with this cute pumpkin bracelet. The pattern will be available in ETSY hopefully tonight. On my trip I looked for yarn stores everywhere. I was very lucky to find one. It made me want to write a book called "Where are all the LYS??!! "
I had a great time on my trip with Barry(my husband), the kids (Austin and Aidan), and my Inlaws Barry and Linda. Many wonderful memories. Thank you.
